Tom Perriello is a Virginia native, former Congressman, and diplomat who represented Virginia's Fifth District in Congress after flipping one of the state's most conservative seats in 2008. He cast the deciding vote to pass the Affordable Care Act and held more than 100 town halls because he believed you cannot represent people without listening to them first. After Congress, he served as a U.S. Special Envoy under both the Obama and Biden administrations. He grew up in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains and has spent more than two decades in public service fighting for working families, healthcare access, and democratic accountability.
